Song info: Used in a commercial for a Suntory orange cocktail drink.
Notes: Written when Ringo was 16. The line about the “Irish girl” is a reference to Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries. Title inspired by a tanka (short poem) by Kakinomoto no Hitomaro:

茜さす日は照らせれどぬばたまの 夜渡る月の隠らく惜しも
akane sasu hi wa terasaredo nubatama no yo wataru tsuki no kakuraku oshimo
The crimson-gleaming sun still shines,
but that the moon is hidden
in the pitch-black night it crosses――
alas!
